Nakusp Cemeteries

Situated on a sunny lot overlooking the beautiful Arrow Lakes, the Nakusp Downtown Cemetery consists of seven sections:  Women’s Institute; Catholic; Hillcrest; Legion; New Catholic Expansion; Nakusp Nondenominational area; and the New Legion Expansion.  The lands and cemetery functions were assumed by the Village some years ago; although this is a shared service with the Regional District of Central Kootenay, who contributes tax dollars towards administration and maintenance each year.  The older sections of the downtown cemetery are essentially full; however, spaces are available in the expanded areas.

The Village also runs the Glenbank Cemetery, which is located at a quiet spot along Alexander Road.  This cemetery was originally established for the relocation of the Arrow Park cemetery remains, during the flooding of the Arrow Lakes in the 1960’s. This cemetery has many available plots and room for expansion in the future.
